First Race

Banana and Papaya ran their first race this morning! Well, Banana did. (Papaya, who was all smiles and excited about the race too, ended up only running about 3 steps before she, crying, ran over to where I was standing on the sidelines. I guess the crowd was a little overwhelming.) The race was 1/2 mile, and incidentally, Banana and Papaya were the only two in their age group (5 years and younger) so Banana won their division, and received a first place medal! :) And although Papaya "cut the course," they allowed her to finish the last stretch (which she did, holding my hand), and she got the second place medal! They had a lot of fun and their Grandma & Grandpa & cousin Madison were there to cheer them on.
